"Internet Boot Camp for the Hearing Impaired" provides a unique opportunity for deaf or hearing impaired people to experience the benefits of the Internet. During class, each person is on a computer connected to the Internet via a high-speed line.

Our curriculum focuses on hands-on training with the assistance of a professional Sign Language Interpreter live in the classroom. We'll show you many benefits of the internet including:

• Getting up-to-date instruction
• Staying in contact with people through e-mail
• Reducing TDD telephone expenses
• Meeting new friends in chatrooms
• Using video conferencing to sign or type conversations with people around the world
• Setting appointments using e-mail
• Researching services for the hearing impaired
• Ordering food and prescriptions online
• And much more

In addition to teaching you how to take advantage of all the deaf and hearing impaired resources on the internet, we'll also provide you with the basic knowledge you need to master the Internet:

• How to get online
• How to choose an Internet Service Provider
• How to use the Netscape Web Browser
• How to organize and categorize information using bookmarks
• How to use search engines to get the information you are interested in
• How to send and receive E-mail with Eudora
• How to send pictures and documents through Email as attatchments
• How to use the internet to uncover major social and business issues
